The housing department ensures service is provided for members to apply for new or vacant houses, offers an answer to questions about private home ownership, and a maintenance program to supply the housing.

Director of Housing

Under the supervision of the Director General, the Director of Housing is responsible for the management of the Housing Department and as such must ensure that community housing, including rental housing, rent-to-own, and band-owned units is properly administered and maintained. The Director of Housing acts as the liaison between the housing advisory board, tenants, and future private homeowners.

Housing Administrator

The Housing Administrator is responsible for the effective and efficient administration of the housing program of the Waskaganish First Nation, including rentals, rent-to-own properties, and Band units.

Local Housing Inspector

Denny Dannrath

The local housing inspector, is responsible for inspecting the new private housing units built in the community by individuals. He is also responsible for performing the preventive maintenance inspections of the social and band housing unit per the established preventive maintenance plan. Lastly, the local housing inspector advises individuals on accessing funds and managing construction activities.

Administrative Assistant

The Administrative Assistant, is responsible for providing administrative and secretarial support to the Housing Department. The Administrative Assistant will help with the smooth functioning of the department by performing tasks in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner.

Computer Data Technician

Computer data technician maintains inventory in support of housing maintenance to ensure an adequate supply of materials.

The Housing Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for managing the housing maintenance program to ensure that the housing supply of the Cree Nation of Waskaganish is maintained in good condition.
